Challenge
5 days of hard work!
The Center Venture 2007 is a tough challenge – for students and organizers alike. Within 5 days, we seek to create a whole startup including catchy idea, real-time application, business and finance plan and finally get the initial interest a venture needs!
This year we focus on people who like touching products, places and people!
Why is that?
In the near future, people will have access to new features on their mobile phones no matter where they are and what they do. Customers will have instant access to product information and recommendations while they are at a brick-and-mortar store. Touching a product will be sufficient to access all relevant information and to interact with other users.
The technologies that are necessary to realize this vision do already exist.
NFC (Near-Field Communication) is a technology that will be built into mobile phones to allow close-range communication between mobile phones, (product) tags and other devices such as terminals. While most of its main use cases relate to payment and ticketing services, NFC can be used for any kind of service that is based on identifying objects that are touched by the user.
We will use NFC to create a community plattform including a unique Facebook application
- for exchanging recommendations and ratings on real-world objects
- to provide value-added services based on the object touched by the user
- to design easy-to-use user interfaces
Furthermore, we will
- identify user needs for a given target group
- identify the business potential of specific services
- follow a real time application development approach
